How is being in UILDM like?

Posted on

The first two weeks of our EVS project were full of trainings and activities. Most of them were organised at the territory of Uildm’s building, which is impressively accessible! This is a perfect environment to provide inclusive activities. This article shares two different points of view of two volunteers: 17 years old Maksim Siderenko from Estonia and the visually impaired Pancho from Bulgaria, who is 25 years old.

Pancho – Every training gave me more confidence that I will be able to tackle with the incoming tasks related to the project. The provided games were very accessible and inclusively designed. They really provoked my creativity and my ability for team working. I was able to learn lots of new things, which I can implement in my musical job.

Maksim – I came to Italy because I want to see a different point of view on life, from which I can take something valuable. I want to be helpful to other people and these days I had this chance. During the games and activities, I had to think not only for my needs, because everyone of us has some kind of difficulties in the past.

Let’s share some of our favorite activities! Learning Italian with Massimo, who always finds a funny method to explain to us the meaning of the words. Also playing a challenging and creative game together with our Italian volunteers Barbara and Stefano.

And last, but not the least! Asking difficult questions to Eda, who has to use all of her experience and sense of humor to be able to answer them.

We are inviting you to follow us in our next blog posts, where we will share more details about the background of us, the EVS volunteers and the future activities!
